Custom Order Process + Pricing
I know just how much custom leather + silver prices can vary and I believe in transparency, so I’m including a general price list as a starting point.
I have tried to set my business up with my customers in mind. Nobody likes having to search high and low for pricing information or to reach out to find out something is way off from what you thought. Nobody likes sticker shock or being unsure of the process, so let’s fix that. I’m including as much information here as possible for you to peruse, but please also know that I don’t mind questions. Until a deposit is paid, there is no commitment or pressure from me to order.
The Process
Step 1. We talk. I’ll ask questions, you tell me what you want, I probably ask you more questions. I’ll give you a timeline and price. Standard turnaround time is 8-12 weeks, but I’ll always work to get it out as fast as I can. If you have a budget you need to stay within, let me know and I’ll let you know what we can do with that.
Step 2. If you’re ready to move forward, I’ll send you an invoice for a deposit. Please keep in mind that 50% due up front is standard. And the full amount must be paid in full before I hand it over to the customer. If you would like to discuss payment options, just let me know and we’ll see what we can do.
Step 3. Some orders will require a mock up. This is where I roughly draw up your design so you can see the composition. Please understand that drawing up the design is roughly a third of the labor of a project and therefore, I do not start this part until a deposit has been made. There are plenty of examples of my work available for you to decide if you want to order with me. This is not work I am willing to do without payment. I am willing to make small changes up to 3 times. After that, I will likely refund your deposit, minus a design fee, and refer you to a different artisan who may be a better fit for what you want.
Step 4. Once the design is drawn up, no changes may be made. I will work on your project, occasionally send you updates and let you know when the remainder of your payment will be due.
